Dr Rhythm DR-110

This is going back a bit in the field of drum machines. However, this little beauty is still capable of kicking up a storm and is fully programmable.

I still have the case and the operating manual.

This drum machine is so easy to programme up that you would have to take lessons from an expert on stupity in order not to be able to do it.

There are knobs to twiddle to make it go faster and to sound louder.

Loads of buttons to push and tap

And there's lots of good sounds and rhythms that can come out of if. I usually put it through my amp or mixer.

I sometimes use it when I am creating a bit of pre-production music so that I can hear how it will sound with drums. Add a bit of multi-tracked bass and synth and WOWW - nose bleed and cranial collapse jobbie.

Hmmn, it looks good and retro is always nice, but is it any good for my kind of music.

Yeah, yeah, it's getting me in the groove, the drums are tasty and it's blowing my mind.

The question is though, do I go with the retro or do I get busy with the fizzy of the newer technology.

I have to ask these things, after all I do have a certain standing in the field of scratch music.

I need a bit of catchy backing as my group Clord Borls has disbanded. So, there's absolutely no contest. I'm gonna get moody with some big jam.

This should do the job very nicely on my next CD album which will be called "I DON'T DO THAT COUNTERFEIT CATNIP".

Yeah , swivel on it.
